Freight Claim Protocol

No shipping company is a good shipping company, or mediocre for that matter. So here at Mental Case, we make all efforts to ensure your package is received on time and unharmed. Due to carelessness in the shipping industry, we have learned that our packaging skills must outweigh our case building skills. However, sometimes damage or loss still may occur. In the event that your package is damaged or lost all claims must be filed with the carrier. Please follow these guidelines when receiving a package.

1. Inspect all shipments upon arrival. If damage or loss is apparent, do not accept the shipment until you make a notation of the damage on all copies of the carrier’s Bill Of Lading. Have the driver sign all copies to acknowledge the notation.

*If directions in paragraph 1 are not followed, there will be no basis for a claim to be filed. Mental Case then is not responsible for freight claims or damage.

2. In the event you have signed for a shipment and there is internal damage, do not throw away the packing materials. These materials will provide better results for your claim. Contact Mental Case and the local branch of the carrier immediately.

3. Whether or not the driver acknowledges the damage, an inspection will be arranged by the carrier to investigate the items effected. This is the reason for saving ALL packaging materials until after the claim is settled. Any pictures, videos or other materials to document the event will serve your claim more efficiently.

4. DO NOT return product to Mental Case unless authorized to do so. File your claim by contacting us at (843) 242-7777. Mental Case will then file a claim with the carrier. We will need all documented material (pictures, video, copies of Bill of Lading) to make our claim. Mental Case is NOT responsible for cost of repair or freight charges following a claim.
